Vissla - ECO-LASTICS
Eco-Lastics: The All-Day Elastic Boardshort
Made for surfing, swimming or doing very little in the sun. Whatever the plan, you can feel good about it: rather than making fresh plastic for polyester, we break down existing water bottles, blend them with upcycled coconut husks and weave the result into a pull-on baggie that earns its keep. Want laces instead? The fixed-waist Boardshorts range has you, and the Walkshorts take it from beach to street.
Vissla Eco-Lastics: Elastic-Waist Boardshorts That Go Everywhere
The Eco-Lastic is the boardshort you reach for when you can't be bothered with buttons. An elastic waistband means it pulls on in a second and stays comfortable from first coffee to last wave, while the same recycled and coconut-based fabrics found across our boardshorts keep it light, stretchy and quick to dry. One short for surfing, swimming, skating to the café and everything in between.
What Makes Eco-Lastics Different
Most elastic-waist shorts are an afterthought. Ours are built like a proper boardshort: four-way stretch, a quick-dry hand-feel and a fabric story rooted in recycled bottles and upcycled coconut husk rather than virgin synthetics. PFC-free water repellency keeps the spray beading off without the forever-chemicals. The result is a short that performs in the water and looks right out of it, sitting comfortably in the wider Eco Shorts range.
Why Surfers Choose Eco-Lastics
- Pull-On Comfort: An elastic waistband with no laces to fight, for all-day ease from the car park to the line-up.
- Recycled & Coconut Materials: Repreve recycled polyester blended with upcycled coconut fibre for natural quick-dry and odour resistance.
- 4-Way Stretch: Move freely whether you're paddling, swimming or lounging out the back between sets.
- Quick-Dry & PFC-Free: Out of the water and on with the day, with fluorocarbon-free repellency that spares the waterways.
How They Fit the Range
- vs Fixed-Waist Boardshorts: Same eco fabrics and stretch; a lace closure gives a locked-in surf fit instead of pull-on ease.
- vs Eco Walkshorts: A water-first baggie rather than a beach-to-street walkshort with a more tailored cut.
- For the groms: Find smaller sizes over in Youth Clothing.
Fabric & Sustainability
The eco in Eco-Lastic isn't marketing. Repreve takes plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean and respins them into a soft, durable yarn, while upcycled coconut husk, a by-product that would normally be waste, brings natural quick-dry and a touch of UV resistance to the blend. PFC-free DWR finishes the job without the persistent chemistry. It's the same lower-impact thinking that shapes our Sustainable Boardshorts.
