Vissla Eco Shirts: Made With Earth-Friendly Materials

Surf shirts built from materials that tread lighter: organic cotton, recycled plastic and hemp. Camp collars for summer, brushed flannels for winter, all with a smaller footprint than the standard shirt. They're the lower-impact end of the wider Shirts & Flannels range, and a natural match for our Eco Tees.

Vissla Eco Shirts: Organic Cotton, Recycled Plastic & Hemp

The shirt is where Vissla's eco approach shows up most quietly and most often. Organic cotton, hemp and recycled-plastic fibres are blended for softness and longevity, then cut into short-sleeve camp collars and warmer flannels. Lower impact at the fibre, comfort you'll actually wear. It's the same eco thinking that runs through our Eco Tees, applied to the wider Shirts & Flannels range.

Lower impact built in from the fibre, not bolted on.

None of this is an afterthought. Organically grown cotton, hemp that asks less of the land, and polyester reclaimed from plastic bottles are chosen at the start, not added as a label at the end, so the shirt feels and lasts like it should while treading lighter. The same materials show up across the short sleeve and long sleeve shirts here.

      Styles

      • Eco Camp Collars: Summer shirts in lower-impact fabrics, sitting with the Short Sleeve Shirts for warm-day wear.
      • Eco Flannels: Warmer brushed builds for the cold half, within the Long Sleeve Shirts set.
      • Matching Tees: Pair with our Eco Tees for a full lower-impact fit, top to bottom.

      Benefits

      • Organic Cotton: Soft, breathable and more responsibly grown, with less chemical load on the land.
      • Hemp: Hard-wearing with a lighter footprint, a fibre that breaks in rather than wears out.
      • Recycled Plastic: Bottles reborn as durable fabric instead of ending up in landfill or the sea.
      • Year-Round Layers: Light shirts for summer and warm flannels for winter in one edit.

      Why It Matters

Fast fashion treats a shirt as disposable, and the planet pays for it twice, once in the growing and once in the binning. We'd rather build a shirt you keep. Choosing organic cotton, low-impact hemp and recycled polyester at the fibre stage cuts the footprint before the cloth is even woven, and cutting the shirt to last means it stays out of landfill far longer. It's the thinking we set out in To Protect & Surf and carry through every organic tee we make.
