Just… WOW!

It was time to replace my old O'Neill 5mm wetsuit, and so the research by way of review reading and YouTube watching began, along with ordering up a stash load of wetsuits to try out.

For the record I ordered and tried 5/4 versions of the Ripcurl Flashbomb, Xcel Pheonix, Xcel Infiniti, Xcel Drylock, O'Neill Hyperfreak, O'Neill Psycho and Vissla 7 Seas. In the past O'Neill had always fit me true and well, so my expectations lie with their wetsuits but I kept an open mind.

I'm a small guy at 5' 6" and around 60kg. Granted, every body shape is different and of course a great fitting wetsuit for one person may not be the best for the next person.
Let me just say, after trying out all 7 wetsuits more than once at various different times and giving them all a fair trial, for me there was one clear winner. Yep, I'm gonna be 'that guy' that says "I don't often write reviews, but…", I feel compelled to share the love for the Vissla 7 Seas Wetsuit for sure!

So, of course the other brands claim to have produced the softest, stretchiest, most sustainable neoprene/materials on the market, blah, blah, but the proof is in the baking and ultimately the final decision comes down to you and me, right!?
Well, I can tell you hands down that to date, I've never experienced such a soft, stretchy, comfortable, great fitting wetsuit as the Vissla 7 Seas 5/4.
This thing is true, soft flexible luxury to wear in comparison to all 'the others'.
I went for the XS and man, it's the best fitting wetsuit I've ever owned, to the point where it actually felt like a 3/2 to wear in comparison to my old O'Neill 5/4 and even dare I say it, in comparison to some of the new tech claimed by some of the other brands. I get it though, those folks in Marketing need to earn a coin, it's just up to us to cut through the BS.

Neck: good fit and sits at a nice height, comfortably tight (i.e. good seal), but not restrictive. Shoulders: great conforming fit, plenty of movement and a good seal. Arms: good length, no gathering at all under the arms and again, conforms really well. Body: good fit and flex. Contours the small of my back really well. Crotch: good comfortable fit, not too loose nor tight. Legs: great fit, feel good. Not too tight with good length and movement.

I've surfed in it several times now. In the cold water you want warmth - it gives you just that. You want 100% comfort so your mind can be free to focus on what you love - it gives you that. Needless to say I love it - yep, I'm a Vissla 'fan boy'. I kept an open mind with few expectations and this wetsuit just blew them all away.
Creators and innovators… Vissla certainly lives up to it. The environment is an important consideration for myself along with the majority of surfers, so it's good to know that box is ticked too.

Add one to your basket. Give it a go and try it for yourself… likelihood is it'll be a keeper.
