New Seas: The U-Zip Entry Suit

The U-Zip is the easy way in. Its zip runs shoulder to shoulder rather than down the chest, so the suit opens wide, goes on and comes off without the usual fight, then seals shut to stop the cold flushing in. You get more freedom through the neck, shoulders and arms for an unrestricted paddle, and far less hassle than any chest zip. For maximum flex instead, see the High Seas, or browse the full wetsuit range.

Vissla New Seas U-Zip Wetsuits: The Clever-Entry Suit

Anyone who has fought a cold wetsuit over wet shoulders in a dark, wind-blown car park will grasp the New Seas instantly. Built around the U-Zip chest-opening entry, it opens shoulder to shoulder for a generous entry, then seals shut so the cold never finds a route in. Beneath it sits a properly warm, properly stretchy suit on limestone-based super-stretch neoprene, part of the wider Vissla wetsuit range.

What Makes the New Seas Different

The U-Zip runs shoulder to shoulder for a much wider opening, so the least dignified part of surfing, getting in and out, finally becomes easy, with far less rubber bunched around the neck, shoulders and arms and no compromise on the watertight seal. GBS triple-glued seams and a Thermal Fever Fiber lining keep the warmth locked in. Want maximum flex? Compare the High Seas.

      Choosing Your New Seas

The warmth choice comes down to your water. A 3/2 covers spring and autumn, a 4/3 is the winter standard, and a 5/4 or a hooded 5/4 and 6/5 take the coldest UK sessions. Get the fit snug so the seal at the lower back and shoulders does its job, then let the U-Zip do the rest. The Wetsuit Guide covers thickness and entry, and the Wetsuit Size Chart nails the fit.

      Construction & Sustainability

The New Seas is built on bluesign-approved limestone foam and Recycled Ridiculous Rubber, roughly 200g lighter on CO2 than petroleum neoprene, with a dope-dyed anti-fade jersey that holds its colour. GBS triple-glued, blind-stitched seams and Neo 3.0 tape seal the panels, and it carries a one-year seam and neoprene warranty. When it's surfed out, the Stoke Exchange recycling programme keeps it out of landfill.
